Winter is coming this weekend

Forecast Friday Nov, 21st 2008 Expecting heavy snowfall and high winds on Friday and Friday night Strong and stormy winds bring heavy rain and cold air from the North to Germany and the Alps. First it rains heavily. During Friday, until the evening  rain changes more and more into snow. We expect heavy snowfall in all higher regions. Extrem snowfall is predicted for southern germany ex. Black Forest, Allgaeu, Alps, Bavarian Forest and Erzgebirge in the east. More than 20 cm in the Alps  and more than 30cm of fresh fallen snow is expected (Black Forest , Bavarian Forest , Harz , Erzgebirge , Thuringian Forest, Bavarian Alps . Roads and street becomes slippery. ... knapp über dem Gefrierpunkt. Sonstb ist überall bei Frost mit glatten Straßen zu rechnen. Zudem muss mit Sturm, teils Orkanböen gerechnet werden. Böen bis Windstärke 9 oder 10, auf den Gipfeln auch über 100 km/h sind möglich. Dies bedeutet zusammen mit dem starken Schneefall: Achtung Schneeverwehungen. Vor allem im Schwarzwald, auf der Schwäbischen Alb, im Allgäu, am oberbayrischen Alpenrand und im Bayrischen Wald ist mit Schneeverwehungen zu rechnen.
